Compare the Sanrio Friends in Hello Kitty 50th Magnet Blind Box with the Miffy and Friends Figure Blind Box on price, display style, and set-completion goals.
Quick answer
Choose the Sanrio Friends in Hello Kitty 50th Magnet Blind Box if you want flat, display-friendly collectible magnets and a clear path to a full 12-piece set. Choose the Miffy and Friends Figure Blind Box if you prefer a small stand-alone figure and a lower per-box commitment.
Display format changes how you collect
The Sanrio option is a die-cut magnet, so it works on a fridge, metal board, or magnetic strip without needing shelf space. The Miffy option is a figure, which means it needs a flat surface and a bit of room to stand. If your collecting space is limited, the magnet format is the more practical choice. If you like arranging small characters on a desk or shelf, the figure format feels more like a traditional collectible.
Set completion is clearer on one side
The Sanrio magnet blind box lists twelve characters and offers a full-set option, so you can decide up front whether to chase singles or buy the complete set. The Miffy and Friends Figure Blind Box does not list a set size or a full-set option in the supplied catalog, so you cannot plan a complete set from the product page alone. That missing detail matters if completion is part of your collecting goal.
Price per surprise favors different budgets
At catalog prices, the Sanrio magnet is the lower-cost single box, while the Miffy figure carries a higher per-box price. The gap is small in absolute terms, but it adds up if you plan to buy multiple boxes. The Sanrio full-set option also gives you a way to cap spending if you want all twelve without repeated blind pulls.
The trade-off: magnets vs figures
Magnets are easy to display and easy to gift, but they are flat and less tactile than a figure. Figures feel more substantial and look better as a small desk companion, but they take up space and may be harder to complete as a set without published set details. Neither format is better in every case; the right pick depends on whether you value display convenience or a stand-alone object.
Trade-offs to weigh before you buy
- Display space: Pick the Sanrio magnet if you want to use vertical metal surfaces and avoid shelf clutter. Pick the Miffy figure if you have a flat spot for a small standing character.
- Set-completion planning: The Sanrio box names twelve characters and offers a full set, so you can decide between singles and a complete set. The Miffy box does not publish a set size in the supplied catalog, so treat set completion as unconfirmed. If a complete set is your goal, start with the Sanrio full-set option.
- Budget per surprise: The Sanrio magnet is the lower-priced single box at catalog price, while the Miffy figure costs more per box. Buying several Miffy boxes raises the total faster.
